Anderson primed for Puerto Rico
12th May 2014
Jeshua Anderson is back in action this Saturday, competing in the 400mh in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Anderson has had a solid start to his season at Mt. SAC and Drake, and will be in elite company once again this weekend with two-time world silver medallist Javier Culson and Cuban record-holder Omar Cisneros both confirmed.
“I’m looking to get better each meet and duplicate what I am doing in practice. I need to make the transition out there on the track,” said Jeshua who competed for the first time in Puerto Rico in 2013.
“The track facility and atmosphere in Puerto Rico are great. They definitely take care of us out there and I love running at that track meet. I am looking forward to running there for sure.”
“I am ready to go out and drop a great time.”
“Last year, going into the meet I was tired from travelling a lot in the build up and I wasn’t able to compete as well as I would have liked. I am looking to run faster than this year.”
“This time I feel well rested and I’ve two weeks of great practice at the World Athletics Center. I am ready to go out and drop a great time.”
Jeshua explained how he details his schedule for the season with his coaches and plans is preparation for each race…
“Having a few weeks or week or two in between works for me running wise. As a professional, every time I touch the track I want to run great.”
“I go through the schedule with my coach and see what the best way to compete well. Where I can have good competition and keep well, improving my times.”
The Grand Prix in Puerto Rico will start at 2pm with the men’s 400m hurdles to bring to an end the action at 9.35pm.
