Jeshua on the beat
6th April 2015
Since I was very young music has been a big part of my life. With my father being a musician and plenty of family members who have a music background I’ve been exposed to many different genres of music my parents had in their tower of CDs, cassettes and even vinyls.
Through my college career of course I’ve listened to plenty of different sounds but the majority of the music I listen to is jazz, r&b and hip hop.
A lot of music I keep on repeat in my beats are really smooth, funky and have a bit of a bounce to it. Head nodding is a must!
As far as my beast mode playlist I have a mix of smooth melodic songs with bounce to it and of course “bangers”. During NCAAs I think at the time my songs I had on repeat were Miles Davis – Doo-Bop, Dj Quik – We still party and Dom Kennedy.
My hype song almost always consist of Dom Kennedy- When I come around just a really laid back west coast Cali song.
During my training now I’ve been listening to a lot of A Tribe called Quest- Lyrics to go, Fly Union- See it all, Iman Omari- Energy and a lot of Overdoz a LA based band who I’ve been listening to for awhile now. I’d like to compare them to a Outkast with a west coast vibe.

That west coast sound to me is something I can always listen to. All I really look for in the songs in my music is the element of it being timeless. Music that will never be outdated and will constantly be played for years to come
Really hard to put just one artist and song out there. There are so many artists I’ve left out that I have in my continuous listening rotation. But, I hope you enjoyed the few I’ve given.
